As human beings, we all crave connection in some way. I believe that we crave it for a number of reasons. For example, I believe that we all wish to be deeply understood. I also think that a piece of the puzzle is that we crave connection that is unconditional and makes no demands of us to be something we are not.
I'm grateful to have the connection that I do with my family. We are all different people, yet what has allowed us to thrive and love each other deeply is that we understand and make space for everyone to be themselves. We recognize that we may not all think or act the same way. And since we have that out of the way, we have room to appreciate the unique qualities that everyone brings to the table. This understanding gives us the ability, I believe, to love each other more deeply and unconditionally.
I believe this same connection actually extends beyond familial bonds and is what I call God (though there are many names for the Universal Divine). This divine connection can be a powerful mechanism in your life, and I implore you to spend some time reflecting on it. Not only can it improve your relationships—I believe it can also improve your mindset around a number of things. For example, love is the only thing that can eradicate fear. The more love you invite into your life, the more at peace you can be.
This, I believe, is a secret to Abundance. Because when we make choices out of love--for our life, our family, our community--we make decisions that protect and grow assets. When we act out of fear, that can lead to risk-taking.
So, I encourage you to spend some time thinking about the role that love and connection play in your life.
